1703 - Guillaume François Rouelle was born.

Rouelle was a French chemist and apothecary who introduced the concept of salts. He showed acids and bases mixed together would form salts and there were acidic, neutral and basic salts. He also explained how the dehydration of sulfuric acid works. Rouelle also formed the first chemistry school in France.
